Remis Auditorium La León by Santiago Otheguy (2007, 85 min.). Surrounded by a labyrinth of waterways meandering through lush wilderness, Alvaro lives a simple, lonely life harvesting reeds and fishing. In this remote area of Argentina, Alvaro’s homosexuality and his love for books aggravates his isolation. The only link between this boundless territory and the city is the water-taxi "El León.” Its captain, El Turu, feels threatened by Alvaro's differences and continually harasses him. But Alvaro doesn’t know that El Turu’s masks an inner turmoil.

After Dark is perhaps best known for its creation and execution of After Dark Horrorfest - 8 Films to Die For (www.horrorfestonline.com). Debuting in 2006, After Dark Horrorfest is a one week national film festival that celebrates all areas of the horror genre. In its first year, Horrorfest became the first film festival in history to break into the Top 10 at the national box office, grossing over $2.5 million. Now gearing up for its third year, After Dark Horrorfest has created successful brand extensions in the form of the annual Miss Horrorfest contest (www.youtube.com/Horrorfest) and the feature film contest in partnership with the filmmaker community site, Massify (www.massify.com).
